Brooklands Retrojumble & Classic Car Show
Sunday 23rd July 2017
On 23rd July I drove round the M25 to the historic Brooklands site for the BTM Classic Car Show & Retrojumble. Tony Tucker brought his always immaculate Speedster but Rob could not make it as he was involved in another classic event. Unfortunately Paul Smith also had to drop out at the last minute because of suspension trouble
We were parked with many other Car Clubs on the newly re-opened finishing straight and Mark Vincent joined us in his beautifully detailed black Chesil. Len Raynsford brought his superb Jaguar XK150 replica and Tony Woodfield arrived in his red Banham Spyder.
This is a wonderful venue with several automotive museums, a bus museum, and a large display of historic aircraft. You could go inside most of the aircaraft and we certainly enjoyed the 'Concorde Experience'.
The event is well supported by car clubs and a huge number of classics were parked in every available space, on the historic banking, under aircraft wings, and around the various museum buildings.
Wandering up and down the banking and around the historic buildings was a pleasure in the warm sunshine and we had a good lunch in the Members Club House.

There was a great selection of classic Porsches and cars were parked right around the old banking. Many rare and valuable cars including this Rolls with a Merlin engine.
Going round the various museums and retrojumble stalls is always interesting, and although I have been to Brooklands several times, I always find something new.
This was an excellent event and should be on our calendar for next year - hopefully with more members attending. For more pics including shots of Len's amazing lump, go to: https://flic.kr/s/aHsm16Sbea
