Edenbridge Motor Show
Gabriel's Showground, Edenbridge - 11th September 2016
This was the 3rd Edenbridge show, organised by Eden Valley Chamber of commerce and attracted a good crowd and an excellent selection of interesting cars and was supported by a good number of car clubs.
One Speedster I had not seen before was owned by Marie Landon and built by her husband Ian Landon who also brought along his amazing Mercury Station Wagon. I had been following Ian's Speedster build on our Facebook Page and the car looked even better in the flesh.
I was also pleased to meet Bob Wilkinson for the first time who brought his immaculate pale blue Vintage Speedster.
This car had the best shut lines and the most original features I have ever seen on a Speedster replica. Bob was telling me about being asked by the Porsche factory to take his car to Germany for a show that featured every model made by them. Do have a close look if you see this car at a show - by next year it may even have an umbrella handbrake exactly like the original car. I would hesitate to park my rather high mileage car next to Bob's - it is so perfect.
There were lots of other Porsches at the show including a nice black 968 just like the one I owned until 2013. Edenbridge featured lots of other forms of entertainment for all ages and interests including lots of motoring related and general stalls, an excellent Punch & Judy show and some good live music.

It was quite a long cross-country trip for Diane and I but we both enjoyed the day and the excellent weather.
Lots of interesting Porsches, Lancias and Citroens.
The best two cars in the show for me (apart from the Speedsters) were the Triumph Roadster and Jaguar below.
This would certainly be on my list of shows to go to next year - I understand the date is still to be confirmed but probably Sunday 10th September.
